EBu Engineering

We have been collaborating with EBu Engineering for a long time and are working together on a software solution that makes “unintelligent” geometry smart again. For example, we interpret .STEP files into bolts, tubes or sheet parts, we can calculate cutting angles and we are able to determine the positions of welds (automatically).

All this information can then be used to easily create price calculations, so customers can get a quote with a simple export. We are currently working on the second version of our software, in which Vlieg Engineering has made a major contribution to the software architecture. This new solution is approximately 5 times faster than the first version and offers a high degree of flexibility to integrate new features.

Test Driven Development (TDD) has always been central. This means that we have a very good backend and that we have secured this logic with unit tests. Over the course of 2023, our algorithms started to get so good that there was a need for a more visual way to test. We have created the above web portal for this purpose. The web portal allows us to upload and assess 3D models in a fast and effective way. This way, we try to efficiently identify areas for improvement that we can translate in updates for our algorithms.
