Snijders Ingenieursgroep was the second Early Adopter of Rodly and joined in October 2025. Snijders’ question was rather ‘simple’: “Does Rodly work for walls?” The answer to this question was yes, the fundamental mathematical solver supports this, but there are some parts of the codebase that must be revised to get stable high-quality results. This caveat did not scare Snijders away, they saw the immense potential and long-term benefits of investing in tackling these issues and upgrading the solver to generate better results for walls. So, this is exactly what we did.
After some time, the parts of the solver that required attention were taken care of, and slowly but surely the quality of the rebar results for walls started transforming from not good enough, to acceptable to very good! We intend to reach ‘excellent’ later this year.
The cooperation between Snijders and Vlieg Engineering has been extremely fruitful. Snijders’ in-depth knowledge about designing complex 3D rebar solutions for the most prestigious projects in the Netherlands combined with our ability to transform this knowledge into mathematically accurate algorithms is a match made in heaven. This combination has drastically increased the performance and quality of the Rodly Solver.
Note that we are most certainly not done yet. Later this year, we plan to make a similar integration for walls with simulation software and modelling software as what was co-developed for foundations with VWE. Once completed, there is no workflow that will beat ours.
